Here are a few photos of some Late Roman figures for a Romano-British force for the new Too Fat Lardies dark age rules, Dux Britanniarum. The figures are a Lord (the free Dux Britaniarum figure with a hard copy bundle pre-order), two nobles and champion (Black Tree Designs) with shield transfers by LBM. I have a large unpainted Late Roman army of Black Tree Designs, Gripping Beast and Westwind so these figures are a start...
Hopefully they will see action in our first Dux Britanniarum game next week. These rules look like a lot of fun and the campaign aspect of the rules, and small forces involved, is particularly appealing. Rick has a very nice Gripping Beast Late Roman DBA army and I'll take some shots of the game and his army. For a really superbly painted version of this figure check Andres Amian's blog:

Nice looking figures and those LBM shields look great

Nice work on these - BTW, could you tell me approx. how many figs are needed for the rules? Are they for smaller skirmish games? Thanks, Dean
ReplyDeleteSome lovely painted Romans and those LBM shields finish them off nicely. Look forward to hearing how the new rules pan out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ian, Dean and Pat, the LBM transfers are great. Dean the forces are small - units of six or four for missile troops. The Romano-British have forty four figures and Saxons thirty eight, so definitely skirmish size, similar to Saga.
