Here are a few photos of the new Gripping Beast, Gall-Gaedhil or Foreign/Norse-Gaels, also known as 'The Sons of Death'. These are great figures to paint with really dynamic attacking poses. As Swords for Hire in Saga they can be quite nasty as the unit fighting them suffers half the number of hits, as they inflicted on them, in addition to normal casualties! The first two photos used as backdrops were taken in the Orkney Islands last year.
The fourth game played by Doug and others was a battle from Thirty Years War - Swedes versus Poles using Warhammer English Civil War rules. Thanks to Leigh and Ian for organising the venue and to all the players for the entertaining games.
Here are a few photos of four games played at the Vikings Club in Conder on Sunday at the second meeting of the Capital Region Wargames Club. The photos above are of Greg's participation game of the Battle of Isandlwana which he has run at Wintercon and plans to run at Cancon in January next year. The photos below are of Leigh, Ian and others playing a WW2 Rapid Fire game at Corinth Canal in Greece 1941.

The third game was Saga with Craig play testing a Crusader military order faction against my Vikings. This was a fun game with my newly recruited Swords for Hire, the Gall-Gaedhill (Norse Gaels) also known as 'Sons of Death', proving to particularly nasty. Craig prevailed in a well deserved victory after enduring an eternity of my lucky dice rolling!
