Franks

Here are a few photos of some Franks that I bought from my mate Rick. They were painted by Col Jones and are all Old Glory figures. I have unpainted Foundry and Musketeer Miniatures to add to these but have so many armies on the go that I probably won't get to the rest of the army for a while. Next week I'm getting some Celts also painted by Col and I'm looking forward to that and will post pictures of various units in the army.

  1. I know Col well and he is certainly a great painter, fast too in his day, with not a dip to be seen. Glad some one picked up the celts, I needed to win lotto oh we'll next time.

    1. Col is a great painter, Chris and seems to be able to paint anything really well. Yeah they weren't cheap but are very nice.

  2. Frankly, these are wonderful! Love the colors and the shieldwork is especially sharp.

Nice find on the Celts too. I think I'd rather buy Celts than paint them.

    1. Col did an excellent job on these Franks Monty. Looking forward to the Celts - painting all that plaid does put me off!

  4. Great figures. Franks were the first proper army I collected and are still one of my favourites.

  5. Yes I really like those! I take my hat off to anyone who can paint a whole unit with striped tunics.
