Sea People Chariots

Here are two of the new Sea People Chariots recently released by Warlord Games/Cutting Edge Miniatures. These are simply superb figures like the entire range - check the stunning Hittite chariots painted by Andres Amian! I have been really enjoying the Bronze Age warfare articles in the Warlord Games newsletter by Nigel Stillman. It's definitely worth receiving if you're at all interested in the period. The chariot with the Pelset crew (blue chariot) can also be used for Philistines. The mud-brick house is the new plastic kit by Renedra.

    1. Thanks Ernie, they had small numbers of chariots - I have some of the ox carts they used to paint as well.

  5. What a great run of painting! I love the cowhide shields, and basing too. And the mud house.

Being a charioteer had to be hell. 3 guys squeezed into a jostling chariot trying to shoot or throw stuff at people shooting back at you, and the horses not always listening. ;-)

    1. Thanks Monty, Sea People are a really colourful biblical army to collect and paint. It would have been a pretty rough old ride in the chariots but better than the ox carts they also used!

  6. Lovely work, the shields are really good. Me I'm still waiting for Warlord to produce back the Canaanite chariots from Cutting Edge. I'm out and I need some to finish my project. Slightly annoying...

    1. Thanks Iannick. Maybe they will release them with the NKE range? They're doing Hittites now so may not be too far away?

  11. You,ve done a really nice and colourful job on these. I have been seduced by North Star lager style figures these days but still very impressed by these new chariots will add them to collection.
Foot are now listed on Cutting Edge Site.

  12. Thanks Colin, I've ordered some of the Northstar figures too. Warlord have two biblical supplements in the works. I'll check the Cutting Edge site.

  13. Mike, well done on those chariots. The foot command has been done and hopefully some of the infantry will be completed by the end of the year but don't quote me on that. :). The Mitanni/Canaanite/Syrian chariots are in the pipeline to be re-released at Warlord so hopefully not too long to wait. Their intention is to re-release 3 packs every week every Friday. cheers, pete

    1. Thanks Pete, I saw the greens on your site - they look great! That's good news about the other ranges - Warlord have done a great job re-releasing and promoting them.

  14. Mike, you should push the chariot down a little so it is not at an angle to the horses. Just push the draft pole down a little. The chariot should parallel with the base if you get what I mean. Anyhow, I would like to use the pics on my site if you agree. cheers, pete

  15. Mike let me know what you think of North Star. They are very big and I plan on separate units rather than mixing. It is side project so I worry if they will push with Hittites etc.

    1. Will do Colin, I should get them soon - mail order to Australia is often slow. I ordered units of the Sea People, NKE archers & spearmen, so they will be separate units anyway.

    1. Paul Sawyer of Warlord just said they were planning two biblical supplements no further details at the moment but I suspect Nigel Stillman maybe involved as he has been writing articles for them.
